The most awaited festival of the summer
The Feast of the Redeemer is one of the most treasured festivities felt by the Venetians and the most eagerly awaited by tourists. Thanks to the spectacular firework display that on the night of Saturday, attracts thousands of tourists on the stage of the San Marco Basin play of light and reflections produce a kaleidoscope of colors with the silhouetted spiers, domes and bell towers of the city. Tradition has it that at sunset the boats, decorated with boughs and colored balloons and well-lit, begin congregating in Saint Mark’s Basin and the Giudecca Canal.
The fireworks show, which starts at 23.30 and lasts until midnight.
